On Monday Meira went to playgroup without me, I wasn't feeling 100% so Kate took her along with her own two and the handy help of her husband. And Meira had great fun, hiding inside the toy kitchen sink unit, so Kate thought she'd made a break for it, and decorating a biscuit with icing and sprinkles. Obviously her Dads kitchen skills coupled with Grandmas icing skills have been passed down as this is a lovely decorated biscuit.
Wednesday evening saw me going to my 3rd Zumba class, this week with Kate, and I must be getting better as I was more tired after this session, even getting most arm movements in the right place as well as feet. And this afternoon we are off to play at Donna's house and hopefully the sky stays blue so we can be in the garden.
A place where I can keep family and friends updated on what we are up to.

Another busy weekend
Another weekend of decorating for Tem and now all the walls are stripped and the ceiling is plastered, just needs a sand. It is really coming along well.
Meira and I visited my Mums on Saturday to have lunch with her and then a cuppa in the afternoon with Carole, Ruth and Becky also. We had a lovely day, Meira had much fun in the garden and with Dido and I had a nice chat and look at photos in the afternoon.
Sunday morning brought Meira a suprise visit from Grandad and Wendie and even though I had to go around the house and through the backdoor to make tea, and back again to bring it in, they kept Meira entertained so Tem could continue plastering.
I like weekends of visits and visitors, and it was a bonus that the dining room has also come on a stage. So now to look forward to a week of fun.

Fun at the weekend
True to form the weekend was mainly trying to move the decorating along whilst keeping Meira entertained and giving Tem a bit of time to recoup ready for another week of work. This was helped greatly by Becky and Tom visiting on Sunday. It was fantastic to see both of them and Meira really loved it, especially when they took her to the park so we could get some more paper and coving stripped. They didnt get away without helping either, Becky helped me with the striping and Tom helped make pudding, we did ply them with yummy Sunday dinner though, yummm.

Zumba
I went to my first Zumba class on Wednesday evening and it was really good fun, I don't think Jeanette and I have laughed so much at ourselves in an hour before! For those of you who haven't come across Zumba before think aerobics crossed with Latin inspired dancing, all happening rather fast or so it seemed on our first class. Surprisingly I didn't ache on Thursday though Jeanette did point out that this may be due to the fact we weren't working as hard as we felt we were, our brains were obvioulsy more focused and in time with the movements than our arms and feet were! But really looking forward to next weeks installment, I even have some new trainers to help me bounce, sidestep and grapevine better, but I'm still not sure about the galloping move?!

Brilliant bath crayons
I recently bought Meira some crayons which she can draw on the bath with, and they just wash off afterwards, and they have transformed bath time. We had a few weeks of real tears and upset at bathtime especially when it came to hair washing but now we are back to not wanting to get out of the bath when the water has gone cold. These crayons are also useful, I found today, for when I want to wash my hair over the bath with Meira running around upstairs, she spent the whole time drawing on the bath so I knew exactly what she was up to, brilliant!

Testing
Meira Madness
Meira has a funny new action - pretending to sneeze in an exaggerated way, in itself it is very funny. Then yesterday evening we had a children's programme on the TV and a character was sneezing so hard they kept falling over, so Meira in response was sneezing and then falling onto her back and waving her legs in the air, it was hilarious.
Also climbing has become a favourite past time and she can now get onto a dining chair and then up on top of the dining table - not very safe! Tem and Meira were feeding the fish in the dining room this evening when Meira decided to climb onto the table and was promptly removed, so she moved the chair to the other end of the table and tried again.. When I asked her if she had moved the chair so it was away from Daddy in order to get onto the table unhindered she replied very honestly 'yes' followed by her version of 'I have moved the chair to get onto the table' and continued to climb up.

Decorating
Anyone who visits on a semi regular basis will know we seem to be in a near constant state of decorating, not only to spread the cost and to fit it in around working and Meira but also as we seem to uncover hidden jobs when we start removing the current decor. So now we have begun the dining room. Currently we have one wall stripped of paper and coving, and the furniture shifted so another wall can be started. This new wall Tem had all good intentions of starting yesterday evening but with Meira getting us up in the night for a couple of days (back teeth coming through) we were in bed watching a film and eating chocolate cake by 8pm last night. I think this will be another weekend at a time room, but well worth it when we finish.
Hello
Well hopefully this is the first of many writings to appear on this page and maybe I'll even get the camera out again. My aim is to blog at least once a month to keep family and friends updated on what fun and games we are up to, how Meira is growing and entertaining us, and how our house decorating is coming along. Hopefully you'll enjoy it and let me know what you think.
